Hip Hop In a Box is used by over 3500 schools and therapy clinics around the world for choreography inspiration, class activities and teaching aids!  Add any style to the steps to create unlimited variations of dance routines! Hip Hop In a Box is perfect for ages 3 through adult!

NOTE: Hip Hop In a Box is not a full curriculum. The dance steps included are adapted elements of popular dance steps from the hip hop culture and should be used as building blocks to help dancers learn body awareness, control, and sequencing. They are building blocks and are purposefully void of style so that all forms can be explored by adding varying body dynamics and movement integrity as you move through the positions of each step. Dance step names have been changed where movement does not encompass the full and complete hip hop dance step to assist in helping movement resonate with young dancers. For example, our dance step, "Grab It Pull It Down," is a small element of the "Biz Markie." We don't call it the Biz Markie, because the full and complete dance step requires many additional elements that may not be developmentally capable for young children or beginner dancers. Additionally, many dance steps in our deck, like "Bow and Arrow," can be applied across multiple styles to create a variety of movements that may not have a particular name. It's up to you to use your creativity and add layers as you increase the challenge for your dancers. Add style, increase the intricacy of sequencing, and teach your dancers about the history of the styles used in class!
